Winter Steelhead Report
Fishing was tough last week. After a wave of action in late January, fishing slowed considerably for the first week of this month. The good news is nothing stays the way it is for very long on the coast.
Many factors contribute to how "grabby" the fish are, including water temperature, barometric pressure, tides, moon cycles, river levels, and even the ph levels in the water!
Given how often conditions change, and the fact that the fish we are after are on the move, I feel a constant sense of renewal each day on the water. Every day, even hour to hour, the deck is shuffled.
