Steelhead Vinyards and Salmon Safe

If you enjoy a glass of red wine, look into Steelhead Vinyards of Sonoma Valley.  Steelhead Vinyards has partnered with Trout Unlimited to restore spawning habitat in California's Dry Creek Valley.  A portion from every bottle sold is donated to TU.  Steelhead red is a blend of 55% cab and 45% zin, and is an outstanding value at around $15 per bottle.

When it comes to Oregon wines, look for the Salmon Safe label.  Salmon Safe certifies wineries that use agricultural practices that don't harm salmon and steelhead habitat.  Many of these wineries are located near Willamette River tributaries including the Yamhill and Tualatin, Walla Walla River, and interior Columbia Basin and Rogue Basin.

Cheers,

Chris
